My patio is just about infested with a few different types of spiders of varying sizes, mostly these little black ones and I've recently seen a couple wolf spiders. I would love to sit out there on the nice furniture I got and use the ridiculously expensive bistro table I bought for the patio when we first moved in and before I knew about the spider issue.
Now, if you're going to get all preachy and tell me that spiders are our friends and keep mosquitoes and other bugs away, you're barking up the wrong tree. I'd rather get bit by a swarm of mosquitoes than by a single brown recluse spider (which sent a friend of mine to the hospital a few years ago). Bugs don't bother me - spiders do.
I hear I should get a feeder to attract birds who will eat the spiders, and I intend to, but are there any other ways to get rid of the little creepers?

That's easy: you don't. you haven't provided any kind of block to their passage. Encouraging any kind of birds toward your patio won't help either, since when you're out there the birds won't be, and they come back.
There's sprays and whatnot, but I won't recommend them. They generally don't help much and too often smell a little weird. So to answer your question, you don't. You're out there with nature, and the spiders are part of that. Deal.
Go buy hedge hog, place it on tin foil in the corner. It's 100% effective.
